Koké Station Grade 1 Ethiopia
Pineapple | Honeysuckle | Blood Orange
Region: Yirgacheffe
Elevation: 1800 MASL
Varietals: Karume, Dega, Wolisho
Process: Honey
Roast: Light Medium
The Coffee: This is an ultra sweet experience. Notes are smooth, clear and layered. They include pineapple, honeysuckle, blood orange and finishes with moderate acidity. This coffee brews true in all formats from drip/pour over that highlights its sweet florals, direct immersion (french press/siphon pot) if you want to accentuate the creamy texture, and espresso that pushes the pineapple to the front of the line. Please note this coffee is highly approachable as a fresh roast, and will hold up great with ample rest too. Fresh roast is a bit brighter hit of pineapple/florals with rested cups presenting a sweeter honeysuckle note.
The Producer: This Grade 1 offering is a community lot of coffee from outgrowers sourced by the Koké Washing Station. Aptly named after the Koké neighborhood in Yirgacheffe, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. Standing with our company values of procuring coffees from female led organizations, this washing station is owned and operated by Semira Negash. She opened this washing station in 2020 and quickly climbed the ladder and had their coffees place at the 2021 Cup of Excellence Ethiopia.
