The Coffee: A microlot, single varietal Gesha, roasted light. This coffee carries a very clean cup with a high levels of sweetness paired with pleasant acidity. Notes for this coffee are sugary, gingersnap, jasmine, lemon, with vanilla wafer and peach as it cools. The body carries a moderate weight but smooth in texture and an overall clean cup. We find this Gesha performs best with ample rest (7 or more days) with pour over and aeropress formats being our favorite formats.
The Producer: This microlot, single varietal coffee comes to us from Finca Rosita, a family operated farm in the town of Illimani located in the Caranavi region of Bolivia. Their farm, named after the matriarch of the family, Rosa Armayo lies on 32 hectares of land dedicated to coffee production. Lots consisting of Gesha, Java and Catuaí are grown here where they undergo a washed process. This particular microlot consists of Catuaí, a specialty grade varietal known for high cup quality and reliable prodcution.
